Personalising your Horse gift
We have tried to make personalising the perfect horse gift as easy as possible, but we thought you might find some tips for moving your horse photo around, adding text and changing its colour useful. Of course, your photo doesn't need to be of a horse or pony. You can pretty much upload any picture you like. If you are not sure about what you want to include on you design, take a look at the Design Inspiration section (under Find A Photo) for some great ideas for using horse pictures.
Choose a gift
Lets get started by having a look at the gift you might want to personalise. You can do this by either clicking "Choose a product" in the blue box on the home page or, if you know you want something specific, by clicking on one of the purple boxes on the left hand side of the screen. If you are not sure what you want, have a look in Fun Gifts - there are loads of different ideas for horse gifts here.
Choose a horse photo
Next have a look at the photos and shapes available to use on your gift by clicking "Find A Photo", just after the first gap on the left hand side of the page. This will bring you to a page where you can look at our horse and pony photos by clicking:
- the colour of horse you were looking for
- 'View All Our Horses' button at the bottom or
- the shapes button (where you will find pony silhouettes, horse slogans and shapes)
Alternatively, you can upload your own digital photo by using the browse function on the right and then clicking 'Upload Your Image'.
Save your photo
If you upload your own photo, you can save it in your own private members area but you must be a Ponypics member to do this. If you are not a member yet, click on the purple "Register" button towards the bottom of the left hand side of the page. If you are a member, simply click on "Members Login".
When you are registered and are logged in, your uploaded photos will be saved automatically. You can use your horse photo later if you upload it and save it. You can upload more than one if you want to.
Start Designing your gift
Choose your photo and click Start Designing. You can design the front and back of t-shirts and mugs, so you can use two horse photos if you want to. On most other gifts you can use one picture. Then click "Design Time" this will bring you to the design area.
Enlarging your photo
Firstly place your horse, pony or any other picture you have uploaded into the position you want it.
- You always need to click on your chosen picture first
- Then click "Larger" - found on the right hand side of the page
- If your horse picture gets too big, click smaller
If your horse photo doesn't get big enough to fit the product, it may be worth trying to upload a different photo. If this particular horse picture is the one you definitely want, enlarge it as far as it will go, finish your design, go into the trolley area and save it then contact us, using the contact page. If you explain what you want, we will have a look at the photo and see if we can enlarge it any further in our Design Studio. We look forward to seeing your horsey and non horsey gift designs!
Moving your photo
- First, right click on your photo and hold
- Drag your picture into position
- Release your mouse
Type your text
There are three lines where you can add your own wording. They are independent of each other so that you can have all three lines of text in different sizes, fonts and colours if you want to.
Add and move your own wording:
- Click in the first box where it says "Type your text"
- Delete the text already there.
- Type your own words and see them appear in place of the text you have just deleted.
- When you have the wording you want, move your mouse over the picture and click on the words that have just appeared on your design.
- Right click and drag the wording to where you want it to appear.
Change the font
- Go back to the text box and click in it.
- Move your mouse up and click "Choose Font"
- The current font is Arial. To change it, click on one of the other fonts- Vivaldi, Giddy Up, Bradley Hand, Kristen, Porkys or Impact.
Change the colour
- Now change the colour by clicking on one of the coloured samples below the text boxes and your wording will change colour.
Change the size
- Change the size by clicking in the text box of the wording you want to change then clicking one of the "A"s on the bottom right. The larger the A, the bigger the wording will appear.
- To reduce the size of the wording, click in your chosen text box and then click a smaller A.
If you don't want text
- If you just want to use your horse picture on your gift and therefore do not need any of the text boxes for your wording, simply delete the text in the box(es) you don't want. You can have no text at all if you want or just one or two lines.
To change your gift or horse picture
If you want to change the gift you have chosen or your photo at any stage, simply use the buttons on the left to fetch something else to make your design with.
Save or Buy
Once you have finished your personalised gift design - or even if you run out of time and want to come back and finish it off later - click "Continue" in the orange button at the bottom of the page. This will take you through to the trolley page where you can buy or save your design.
To buy, scroll down and enter your details in the area provided. To save, click "Save My Designs" and you will be taken to the Registration page. If you are a member click the "log in" button, if not, enter your details so that your horse design can be saved.
Don't forget to come back
Once you have saved your design, don't forget to come back and finish it off so that you can have your personalised horse gift at home!
